BBC News - Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz al Saud has died.

The crown prince was King Abdullah's half-brother and first in line to the Saudi throne. He was also minister of defence and aviation.

He was in his eighties and was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2004. He is thought to have died at a New York hospital.

CNN - Deposed Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi was killed Thursday in crossfire between transitional government troops and the ex-ruler's loyalists shortly after he was captured alive, interim Libyan Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril told reporters in Tripoli.

Gadhafi's death happened apparently after he survived a NATO airstrike on a convoy in the area, a senior NATO official told CNN.
